Occultation Predictions Table

The occultation table shows a summary of predictions events available starting from your current date and time, with one event by row. By default, it exhibits the columns: Map, Object, Dynamical Class, C/A Instant, C/A, Velocity, Local Solar Time, and G Gaia. More hidden columns are availabe once you click on the columns menu. All columns are sortable.

WARNING

Occultation ID values are NOT static. If the occultation predictions are updated for a certain asteroid, the old ID will no longer be available.

Below are the descriptions of each available column.

Map	Occultation map thumbnail, when it exists
Object	Object's name (with number, when it exists) or principal designation
Ast Number	Asteroid number, when it exists
Dynamic class	Asteroid dynamical class (with subclasses) as defined by Skybot (more information)
C/A Instant	Instant of the closest approach in UTC	Date and time
C/A	Geocentric closest approach	arcsec
P/A	Position angle with respect to the star at closest approach	degrees
Velocity	Velocity in the plane of the sky (prograde is positive, retrograde is negative)	km/s
Distance	Geocentric distance of the object at closest approach instant	AU
Long	East longitude of sub-planet point (positive toward East)	degrees
Local Solar Time	Local solar time at sub-planet point	hh:mm:ss
RA offset	Offset applied to ephemeris in Right Ascension	mas
